چکیده

Unambiguous tracking for Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) modulated signals is an important requirement of modern Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers. An unambiguous tracking method based on combined correlation functions for even/odd order sine/cosine-BOC, Composite BOC (CBOC) and Alternate BOC (AltBOC) modulated signals is proposed. Firstly, a unified mathematical formulation for all kinds of BOC modulations is introduced. Then an unambiguous tracking method is proposed based on the formulation and the idea of pseudo correlation function (PCF) method. Finally, the tracking loop based on the proposed method is designed. Simulation results indicate that the proposed method can remove side peaks while retaining the sharp main peak for all kinds of BOC modulations. The tracking performance for AltBOC is examined and the results show that the proposed method has better performance in thermal noise and long-delay multipath mitigation than the traditional unambiguous tracking methods.

A Novel Correlation Function for CBOC Signal Synchronization

Binary offset carrier (BOC) signal synchronization is based on the correlation between the received and locally generated BOC signals. Thus, the multiple side-peaks in BOC autocorrelation are one of the main error sources in synchronizing BOC signals. Recently, new correlation functions with no side-peak were proposed for sine and cosine phased BOC signal synchronization, respectively, by the a...

Sidelobes Cancellation Method for Unambiguous Tracking of Binary-offset-carrier Modulated Signals

The signals proposed for the future European Galileo system and the GPS M-code signals use split-spectrum-type modulations, such as Binary-Offset-Carrier (BOC) modulation. Sine and cosine BOC modulations multiply the spreading code with rectangular sub-carriers and create a split-spectrum signal with the main lobes shifted around the sub-carrier frequency. This type of modulation brings multipl...

A Novel Cosine-Phased Binary Offset Carrier Signal Tracking

This paper addresses a novel cosine-phased binary offset carrier (BOC) signal tracking, enabling an unambiguous signal tracking. Two novel locally-generated signals are first obtained by dividing the cosine-phased BOC sub-carrier into multiple parts, and then, cross-correlations between each of the locally-generated signals and the received signal are generated. Finally, the cross-correlations ...

Galileo Dual-Channel CBOC Receiver Processing under Limited Hardware Assumption

Composite Binary Offset Carrier (CBOC) modulation is currently proposed for future Open Service (OS) Galileo signals in E1 frequency band. CBOC consists of a weighted sum or difference of two sine Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) waveforms: a sine BOC(1,1) and a sine BOC(6,1) component. The transmitted OS signal has both data and pilot channels. Data and pilot channels use slightly different modulat...

Simultaneous Perturbation Stochastic Approximation for Unambiguous Acquisition in Cosine-BOC Signals

The binary offset carrier (BOC) proposed for the global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) will enhance navigation performance and spectrum compatibility. However, the acquisition process is made more complex, due to the ambiguity in the autocorrelation function (ACF) of BOC. This paper proposes an unambiguous acquisition technique for the new cosine phased BOC (cosine-BOC) modulated signals, ...
